Troy School District Offers Free Preschool for At-Risk Students
The Great Start Readiness Program is now accepting applications for fall preschool classes.

The Great Start Readiness Program (G.S.R.P.) is accepting names for fall 2012 preschool classes. G.S.R.P. is a free preschool program for students with qualifying risk factors.
To qualify for the program, children must be 4 years of age by Dec. 1, 2012, live in the attendance area, and possess at least two of the following risk factors:
- low family income
- primary home language is not English
- diagnosed with a disability or developmental delay
- severe or challenging behavior
- parent with low education level
- abuse/neglect of child or parent
- environmental risk
The goal of the program is to encourage the development of preschoolers with these specific needs and better prepare them for successful entry into Kindergarten.

Classes will meet Monday through Thursday. Fridays are devoted to parent/teacher meetings, parent education programs and two in-home visits for each child.
