Troy Youth Assistance presents free workshop for Parents: How Smart is a “Smart Phone”?
Safely navigating a “Smart” device is no different than knowing the rules of the road before you drive. Troy Youth Assistance presents How Smart is a “Smart Phone” on Thursday, October 3 from 7 – 9 pm at the Troy Fire and Police Training Center, 4850 John R Road, south of Long Lake Road.
The free workshop presented by Troy Police Officer of the Year, Detective Krissy Shuler will cover what you as a parent NEED to know before your child and his phone are “alone” this summer. Choosing the most appropriate device for your child, exposing the pitfalls and dangers of cell phone use, knowing the good, the bad, and the ugly phone apps, defending my parental decisions and making a smart phone safe.
Parents will receive a sample contract and a list of questions to ask your cell phone provider.
