Vehicles Broken into Overnight on Aurora
The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

Larcenies from autos
2000 block of Raneri, Sept. 22-23, 10:15 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.: Resident advised his vehicle was parked in driveway overnight. Resident stated when he returned to his vehicle he discovered the passenger window was smashed out and a laptop and $30 cash were missing.
6000 block of Aurora, Sept. 23-24, 9 p.m. to 6:57 a.m.: Resident advised someone had attempted to smash his vehicle window. The vehicle had several window chips from the attempt entry.
6000 block of Aurora, Sept. 23-24, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Complainant advised his unlocked vehicle was entered overnight and game pieces were taken. The game pieces were valued at $350.

Auto/vehicle thefts
3000 block of Millay Drive, Sept. 19-20, 10 p.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Resident advised his 2006 Mercedes E350 was stolen from his driveway overnight. Resident stated no one had permission to take his vehicle.
320 E. Big Beaver Rd., Sept. 20, 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Complainant advised she parked her 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 in the lot. When she returned, the vehicle was gone. Complainant stated no one had permission to take her truck.

Credit, check, identity theft, other fraud
1000 block of Sunburst Drive, April 1 to Sept. 12, 8 p.m.: Complainant advised he was contacted regarding credit cards opened in his name with an outstanding balance of $9,000. Complainant advised he did not open the account.
4000 block of Chatfield Lane, Sept. 23, 2:21 p.m.: Resident advised he checked his credit report and found someone had opened three checking accounts in his name. Resident advised he did not open the accounts.
4000 block of Morningdale, Sept. 20, 12 noon: Resident advised she was contacted by Best Buy asking if she had applied for a credit card. Resident stated she had not and no one had permission to use her information.
Drugs/narcotics
100 block of Redwood, Sept. 25, 1:56 a.m.: Troy officers responded to a suspicious persons call. Officers observed a suspect on the street walking towards a suspect in a vehicle. The suspect in the vehicle stated she was giving rides for money. Officers obtained consent to search the vehicle and discovered a small marijuana cigarette and a small glass pipe used to smoke crack cocaine. The suspect on foot was released. The suspect in the vehicle, a 42-year-old from Clinton Township was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs
East Big Beaver Road and Rochester Road, Sept. 21, 3:12 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing a “no turn on red” violation. The driver appeared confused and had an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 29-year-old from Rochester Hills was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .09 percent.
West Fourteen Mile Road and Elliot, Sept. 21, 4:14 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing a “no turn on red” violation. The driver had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from her person. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 23-year-old from Royal Oak was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .12 percent.
Interstate-75 and Rochester Road, Sept. 21, 4:30 a.m.: Troy officers were dispatched to a vehicle which had driven off the roadway into the ditch. The driver was observed to have a strong odor of intoxicants and admitted to drinking. The 22-year-old from Hazel Park failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .21 percent.
Golfview and Coolidge Highway, Sept. 22, 1:05 a.m.: Troy officers were dispatched to a possible drunk driver. Witness stated the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Officers observed the vehicle swerving from curb to curb. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol from inside the car and observed an open can of beer in the console. The driver had slurred speech and failed field sobrieties. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .30 percent.
Stephenson Highway and East Maple Road, Sept. 22, 2:54 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing it almost rear-end another vehicle and observing the driver on a cell phone. Officers observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver had slurred speech and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 44-year-old from Madison Heights had two prior convictions for drunk driving and was arrested for operating while intoxicated (third offense). A blood draw was conducted with results pending.
Dequindre and Wattles, Sept. 23, 10:19 p.m.: Troy officers responded to an accident scene. The driver responsible for the accident had a strong smell of alcohol coming from his person. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 55-year-old from Sterling Heights had a prior conviction for drunk driving. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated (second offense). Breath test results were .08 percent.
Home invasions
2000 block of Somerset Boulevard, Sept. 24, 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.: Resident reported he discovered his door-wall open to his apartment. The resident stated he found his wallet lying on the floor with $40 cash missing and a laptop missing.
Larcenies
398 W. Fourteen Mile Rd, Sept. 19-20, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Complainant advised the “gang box” at the construction site was broken into and items were stolen. Complainant advised a generator was stolen as well. The value of missing equipment is $3,500.
Entertainment Co., 1401 Crooks Rd., Sept. 20-23, 3 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Contractors at the site advised over the weekend equipment was stolen from the job site - cable, tile cutter and wet saw. The value of missing equipment $7,200.
Retail fraud
Macy’s, 2750 W. Big Beaver Rd., Sept. 20, 12:54 p.m.: Loss prevention advised a suspect who had previously stolen from the store was selecting merchandise. The suspect grabbed two shirts and three pairs of jeans and ran out of the store where he was met by loss prevention. The suspect attempted to run, however was detained by loss prevention. The suspect, a 21-year-old from Pontiac was arrested for retail fraud (first degree).
Nordstrom, 2850 W. Big Beaver Rd., Sept. 20, 5:10 p.m.: Loss prevention advised two suspects were observed selecting merchandise and concealing it in shopping bags. The suspects left the store failing to pay for the merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspects and recovered the merchandise valued at $119.98. The suspects, a 16-year-old from Troy and a 17-year-old from Bloomfield Hills were arrested for retail fraud (third degree).
Sears, 300 W. Fourteen Mile Rd., Sept. 21, 12:14 p.m.: Loss prevention advised the suspect was observed selecting clothing and concealing it in her large purse. The suspect left the store failing to pay for the merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise valued at $358.97. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud (second degree).
JCPenney, 700 W. Fourteen Mile Rd., Sept. 21, 3:32 p.m.: Loss prevention advised the suspect was observed selecting merchandise and concealing it in her purse. The suspect exited the store failing to pay for the merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise valued at $138. The suspect, a 28-year-old from Sterling Heights was arrested for retail fraud (third degree).
JCPenney, 700 W. Fourteen Mile Rd., Sept. 22, 12:47 p.m.: Loss prevention advised the suspect was observed selecting a pair of earrings and concealing them in her pants pocket. The suspect left the store without paying for the earrings. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise valued at $16. the suspect was issued a citation for retail fraud (third degree).
