VIDEO: Troy Mayor Performs 'Ceremonial Smash' at Smashburger

The new restaurant, best known for its signature burgers, opens Wednesday at 10 a.m.

At its VIP celebration on Tuesday, Troy Mayor Janice Daniels was on hand to deliver the "ceremonial smash" at burger chain 's newest location in Troy. 

Smashburger is known for its signatures burgers, which are made to order using 100 percent fresh Angus beef that is literally smashed onto the grill using a metal press, thereby creating a sear and locking in flavor and moisture.
