Family Members Give West Bloomfield Optimists a Boost

West Bloomfield Optimists gave Jeff Leib the honorary title of member number 1, because the charter member served as the organization's first president.

Now his grandson, Jenner, is member number 101. The two attended Tuesday's meeting at Stage Deli, where Jeff Leib explained that Jenner's membership help push the club over a milestone.

"We were just teetering on a Century Club (100 members)," he said, "so I decided to make my son, Larry, member 100, and Jenner 101."

The club now has 108 members. With the motto "friend of youth", the Optimist Club in West Bloomfield promotes a positive outlook on life and sponsors youth initiatives in the community.
