West Bloomfield Apartment Complex Residents Surprise Intruder
Two men may have been involved in the incidents, which targeted four Thornberry complex units.

Residents of the Thornberry apartment complex on Maple in West Bloomfield got an unpleasant surprise Sept. 16, as at least one intruder came in through the windows of their homes.
West Bloomfield Township Police Lieutenant Tim Diamond said two men may have been involved in the daytime incidents. Two of four targeted apartments were occupied, and the intruder left when confronted by the residents.
A dowel jammed into a window track foiled another attempt, but one resident reported "quite a bit of jewelry" taken, Diamond said.
Police called in a K9 team to track the suspect. "They were unsuccessful, which probably means they got into a car and drove away," Diamond said.
