Wyandotte Business Upgrading Key Riverside Feature

Owners of Portofino are currently upgrading a deck used for weddings and showers.

The most important aspect of an upgrade currently taking place at Portofino in Wyandotte is preserving the view, according to banquet manager Cindy Przytula.

Przytula said floor to ceiling windows allow customers renting an all-seasons room in the rear of the restaurant to see the Detroit River from anywhere in the room.

Restaurant owner Jerry Beasley began upgrading the deck at the beginning of March by installing new windows and adding beige aluminum siding to the exterior of the room.

"The windows were getting a little bit outdated and we thought sliding windows will be a lot easier to use," Przytula said.

Przytula said upgrades are expected to be completed early next week.
