Weekend Construction Projects in Wayne County May Cause Delays

Before you pack the car and hit the road this weekend, the Michigan Department of Transportation cautions there are several construction projects in Wayne County that may cause delays. 

According to MDOT, they are: 

I-94

• Eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed at M-53 for ongoing bridge replacement work. The full closure begins at 10 p.m. Friday and ends by 5 a.m. Monday. The posted detour uses the I-94 exit and entrance ramps at Van Dyke for each direction.

• Westbound I-94 from M-10 to I-96 has a single-lane closure from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for ongoing construction. The southbound M-10 ramp to westbound I-94 is closed during the same time.

• The ramps from eastbound I-94 to both northbound and southbound M-39 will be closed Saturday at 4 a.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. The eastbound I-94 exit to Pelham Road is also closed during the same time.

I-75

• Northbound I-75 from Sibley to Eureka Roads will have a single right-lane closure on from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

• Southbound I-75 will have intermittent, multiple-lane closures from Piquette Avenue to 7 Mile Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday. Selected ramps will be closed while crews are working in the two right lanes. Detours will be posted for ramp closures.

• Northbound I-75 will have double lane closures from I-94 to M-8 (Davison) nightly from 9 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday. Selected ramps will be closed while crews are working in the two right lanes. Detours will be posted for ramp closures.

Woodward Avenue 

• Northbound and southbound Woodward Avenue will be closed between Forest Avenue and Jefferson Street on from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday for a parade and rally. Jefferson Avenue at Woodward Avenue will be closed during the same time.

Southfield Road

• Beginning next week, the southbound M-39 ramps to eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed from 5 a.m. Monday until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
