BURNSVILLE, MN — Two of the 100 worst greenhouse gas polluters in Minnesota are located in Burnsville, according to a new report.

The Star Tribune Wednesday published a story that documents the 100 worst greenhouse gas polluters in the state.

Here are the Burnsville plants that made the list:

  • XCEL ENERGY'S BLACK DOG GENERATING STATION: 504,665 metric tons of CO2 emissions (Power)
  • BURNSVILLE SANITARY LANDFILL: 64,222 metric tons of CO2 emissions (Landfill)

In 2019 alone, Minnesota's 100 worst polluters added 40 million metric tons of greenhouse gases into Earth's atmosphere, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
