Maple Grove Police Seek Owner of Lost Cat Found at 91st Pl N and 91st Ave N Intersection (hoodline.com) — Maple Grove Police are asking for help finding the owner of a dark gray and white domestic short-haired cat found Dec. 5 near 91st Pl N and 91st Ave N. The not-so-friendly but cute kitty is at PUPS, and anyone who recognizes it should contact PUPS or Maple Grove Police with proof of ownership.
   

2. Maple Grove hosts 2026 budget hearing (hometownsource.com) — Maple Grove’s proposed 2026 city budget would rise 6.77%, increasing the property tax levy by 6.35% and adding three new staff positions. For an average-value home of $443,400, city taxes are projected to go up about $99 next year, with adoption expected at the Dec. 15 council meeting.
   

3. Maple Grove Business Association to dissolve, citing lack of resources (hometownsource.com) — Maple Grove’s longtime Business Association will dissolve on Dec. 12 due to insufficient financial support, ending its leadership of popular events like Chalkfest and Santa at The Shoppes. The city is exploring a scaled-down future for Chalkfest, and local businesses are being directed to Maple Grove’s business resources page for support going forward.
   

4. 2 charged after 3 pounds of meth seized in Hibbing (duluthnewstribune.com) — A Hibbing man accused of transporting several pounds of meth reportedly made multiple stops in the Maple Grove and Mounds View areas during a trip to the Twin Cities before his arrest. Investigators later seized drugs and paraphernalia, and both he and a woman now face felony charges with court dates set for later this month.
