Twin Cities Facing Massive Cool Down After Friday Storm Chances

Storms may hit Friday before a fall-like weekend cools the Twin Cities into the 60s.

TWIN CITIES, MN — After a warm, sunny Thursday with highs in the low 80s, the Twin Cities are in for a change. A cold front moving across Minnesota will bring increasing clouds tonight and the chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms into early Friday.

Friday morning carries a 40 percent chance of showers and storms, with highs near 78. Skies clear by Friday night, dropping temps into the upper 50s.

The real change comes this weekend. Saturday will be sunny but breezy, with highs near 70 and northwest gusts up to 25 mph. Sunday cools further, with a slight shower chance and highs only in the mid-60s. Overnight lows both nights will fall into the 50s, even the upper 40s by Sunday night.

The cooler, dry weather sticks around early next week, with highs in the mid-60s Monday before rebounding to the low 70s by midweek.
