3 Teens Arrested In Surge Of Stolen Vehicles: Police
Police said they believe more suspects are involved.
WOODBURY, MN — Woodbury's Police Department announced Monday that three teenage boys were arrested Saturday in connection with the city's recent spike in stolen vehicles.
Two 15-year-old and one 16-year-old were booked into Washington County Jail, with charges including theft from motor vehicle, first degree burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing police in a motor vehicle, flee on foot and possession of stolen property, police said.
Residents reported three juveniles trying to take a vehicle out of garages on both Heritage Way and Ashton Curve on Saturday, police said. The teens fled when confronted, but residents were able to give officials a description of a white Audi Sedan-a vehicle that had previously been stolen in Woodbury and involved in several other incidents in the Twin Cities, police said.

Woodbury officers were able to find the vehicle and tried to pull it over, but the driver sped off, police said. The vehicle then hit a road sign, causing the driver to lose control, before coming to a rest at Radio Drive and Seasons Parkway, police said.
The teens tried to run away after the vehicle crashed, but were caught by officers, police said. No other vehicles were damaged, and nobody was hurt, police said.

Police say that although three suspects are in custody, they believe more suspects are involved and reminded residents to remove keys from their vehicles and close garage doors to prevent theft.
"Woodbury Public Safety is grateful for community members that have kept an eye out and reported suspicious behavior," police said. "On Saturday, residents pointed out the suspects as officers were scouring the neighborhoods and provided invaluable descriptions, digital media and accounts to the suspects’ actions."
