Meridian improved to 4–10 and now looks ahead to facing Louisville on January 5, while Quitman remains winless and prepares for Kemper County.

• EMCF residents mark the holidays with graduation, family meal (meridianstar.com) — Families and inmates at East Mississippi Correctional Facility recently shared a holiday meal and celebrated graduates of a six‑month leadership class taught by Meridian City Councilwoman Romande Walker. Participants earned certificates for their progress, while the long-running Day With Dad Christmas program gave residents who stayed out of trouble a rare chance to enjoy food, fun, and time with their children.
