Man Charged with Operating Online Marketplaces Selling Fraudulent Montana Driver's Licenses and Other Identity Documents Used by Cybercriminals (databreaches.net) — Federal prosecutors say an alleged online fraudster sold digital templates for fake IDs, including Montana driver’s licenses, to customers worldwide, with at least one transaction tied to a buyer in Bozeman. Authorities seized three related websites and detailed charges that highlight how local residents can be drawn into global cybercrime schemes involving passports, Social Security cards, and state IDs.
   

4. Study Reveals How Yellowstone Earthquakes Might Have Given Earth Life (cowboystatedaily.com) — A Bozeman-based Montana State University microbiologist is helping reveal how Yellowstone’s earthquake swarms may feed underground microbes, offering clues to how life first emerged on Earth. His team’s Yellowstone borehole study links seismic activity to changing subsurface chemistry and microbial communities, and the four-hour drive from Bozeman to the park is central to his ongoing, hands-on research.
