With over $4.5 million raised and hundreds of survey responses already in, construction could start next summer, adding bike-only trails for all ages and easing pressure on crowded local paths.

2. Power outage hits Bozeman (kbzk.com) — A major power outage is affecting more than 2,000 NorthWestern Energy customers in Bozeman, especially around the MSU campus, and has knocked out traffic lights at Main and 19th. Drivers are reminded to treat dark signals as four-way stops, follow flashing light rules, and yield to pedestrians while crews work to restore service.

3. Love Of the Lens Gives Sports Photographer Part In History (northernplainsindependent.com) — A Montana State senior whose sports photos have captured major Bobcat moments in Bozeman has now taken his camera all the way to the White House. Jack Power’s journey from MSU athletics venues and ESPN’s College GameDay visit in Bozeman to a White House photo internship shows how local opportunities can launch a global career behind the lens.

4. US Patent Office picks Montana to replace former regional office in Denver (coloradosun.com) — Bozeman is set to host a new U.S. Patent and Trademark Office community engagement hub at Montana State University, serving an eight-state Rocky Mountain region. Federal officials cite the Bozeman–Gallatin Valley tech corridor and rising Montana patent activity, while some Denver stakeholders question whether the move meets federal siting criteria and dispute cost and staffing justifications for closing the Denver office.

5. The 12 Scams of Christmas: Fake websites and phishing scams (kbzk.com) — A Bozeman cybersecurity expert is warning residents to slow down and scrutinize websites before clicking, especially during the holiday shopping rush.
