Cause Of Wetlands Park Fire Not Determined
Tuesday night fire at Wetlands Park consumed 14.5 acres of land.

A 14.5 acre fire raged at Wetlands Park late Tuesday night, causing fire fighters to remain on the scene into Wednesday. The fire was first reported around 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening and crews from Clark County Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management's fire department responded.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but firefighters say that common reed was primarily burning throughout the blaze that was confined to the Nature Preserve at Wetlands Park. Concrete and dirt trails prevented the fire from spreading further.
A 21-person crew from the Nevada Division of Forestry remained on the scene looking for hotspots after firefighters put the fire out. By 3 p.m. on Wednesday, crews had left the scene of the fire. No homes in the surrounding area were damaged as a result of the fire.
