Doctor Arrested In Las Vegas For 2013 Sting In California
The US Department of Justice alleged Wendell Street illegally wrote prescriptions from his Victorville, CA office in 2013.

LAS VEGAS, NV - A 66-year old Las Vegas man was arrested on Wednesday after being indicted on federal charges of illegally selling prescription drugs to undercover agents. Wendell Mark Street was indicted by a grand jury on Feb. 9 and taken into custody today without incident by DEA Agents, according to a Department of Justice release.
Street allegedly sold oxycodone and alprazolam (known as Xanax) to undercover agents from his clinic in Victorville, CA in 2013. According to a release, the Justice Department alleges that Street wrote prescriptions without conducting a medical examination in exchange for "$200 to $300 in cash," from two investigators with the California Medical Board and an informant.
The indictment charges him with five counts of distributing oxycodone, with each charge carrying a maximum prison sentence of 20 years, and five counts of distributing alprazolam, with each charge carrying a maximum sentence of five years. Street was expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

The grand jury's indictment shows the alleged undercover transactions took place on August 1 and August 29 of 2013. Street's Victorville office was searched by investigators in 2014 and he gave up his California medical license in 2016. Street does not have a medical license in Nevada.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Victoria A. Degtyareva of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task is prosecuting the case for the Justice Department.
