A homeless man known to both police and the victim he allegedly assaulted has been identified by UNLV police.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Police at the University of Las Vegas Nevada have identified a man they say committed a hate crime inside the campus' Student Union on Friday. The suspect has been named as Gino Flinn, a homeless man that UNLV police say is known to the victim as well as law enforcement.

According to UNLV police, Flinn allegedly used homophobic slurs while assaulting a student around 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. He fled after students intervened, police said. Campus police say they are "confident in an imminent arrest," in a Monday release.
