Las Vegas Fire Displaces Five
Fire inside a one-story, two-apartment home causes $25,000 in damage.
LAS VEGAS, NV - Five adults have been displaced after a fire at an apartment building on 1909 D St. Sunday morning. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to the call at 5:01 a.m. and found "heavy smoke" coming from a one-story home with two apartments.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the occupants had left. One adult male was taken to University Medical Center to be treated for minor smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
The fire was extinguished within a "few minutes," said Tim Szymanski, of LVFR. The total damage was estimated to be $25,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Szymanski said the apartment did not have electricity. North Las Vegas Fire Department also responded to the scene. The displaced adutls are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
