Little said officers shot the man after he refused to comply with the verbal commands. The man "retreated" back towards the house and was located by police officers on the ground with a gunshot wound. A gun was found nearby.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital in what Little described as "serious but stable condition."

Little said it is currently unclear if any of the officers were fired upon by the man. It's unclear where the man was struck by police gunfire.

This is the third officer involved shooting reported by LVMPD in 2018.
