Candidates File For Las Vegas City Council Special Election
Eleven candidates filed for Las Vegas City Council's Ward 5 open seat.
LAS VEGAS, NV - Eleven candidates filed by Wednesday's deadline for the special election for Las Vegas City Council's Ward 5 seat. The candidates are:
- Curtis Coleman
- Sheila Collins
- Cedric Crear
- Timothy V. Hicks
- Shannon Hopkins
- Walter Jones III
- Patricia S. Messinger
- Joeseph "Joe" Mitchell
- Harvey Munford
- Shonda Summers-Armstrong
- Randy Voyard
The Ward 5 seat was vacated by Ricki Barlow in January. Barlow resigned saying he would plead guilty to a felony charge related to the misuse of 2015 campaign funds. Early voting for the election is on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23. The election will be held on Tuesday, March 27.
