West Las Vegas Murder Drug Related, Police Say
A murder that occurred at an apartment complex on Sahara Ave. was the result of a drug deal gone wrong, police suspect.

LAS VEGAS, NV - A man was shot and killed last night in west Las Vegas in what police are calling a "narcotics related robbery." Police responded to reports of a shooting at 6:11 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31 on the 8400 block of Sahara Ave.
When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest near the pool area of The Enclaves apartment complex. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the incident stemmed from a drug deal. The victim met the suspect at the apartment complex to purchase narcotics and the two engaged in a physical altercation, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build, approximately 5'11" with a "fade" haircut. He was seen fleeing the scene wearing a letterman jacket, dark pants, and a backpack.
