MANCHESTER, NH — The Manchester Rotary Club’s 20th Anniversary Cruising Downtown car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The popular Labor Day weekend event will feature a wide variety of classic, antique, hot rod, and specialty cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Cruising Downtown typically attracts around 1,000 vehicles and 30,000 spectators.

There is a $5 suggested donation for adult attendees. As all expenses will be underwritten by generous donors, 100 percent of the proceeds will be distributed to local programs that benefit children and youth.

The central downtown Manchester business district along and adjacent to Elm Street will be open for vehicle displays and spectators only — from Bridge Street to Granite Street.

In addition, vehicles will be displayed in Veterans Memorial Park on Elm Street and, for the first time, will also line the southern (eastbound) span of the Bridge Street Bridge. The entire show site is easily walkable, and free parking will be available nearby. Visitors can take advantage of downtown Manchester’s restaurants and shops throughout the day.

Registration for antique and custom vehicles will take place at the staging area at Brady Sullivan Tower (1750 Elm Street) beginning at 8 a.m. The per-vehicle fee is $25.

During the day, a selection of outstanding entries will be signaled out for recognition in several categories, with the awards presented in Veterans Memorial Park at 3 p.m. A second stage will be set up in front of the Brady Sullivan Plaza (1000 Elm St.), with both settings featuring musical entertainment.

This year three popular local bands will be playing — Speed Trap, Permanent Vacation, and Stuck in Time.

The Manchester Mounted Patrol police horses will make an appearance at the event and between noon and 1:00 p.m. the Manchester Fire Department will deploy a ladder truck near Veterans Memorial Park and will give a “Jaws of Life” demonstration.

Vendors, including those selling food, accessories, and collectibles will be set up in that general vicinity.

To help ensure the safety of attendees, the Manchester Rotary Club encourages adherence to Covid-19 guidance issued by the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
