2. Lace 'em up! On Saturday, May 18, the 39th running of the Bedford Rotary Races will take place at Bedford High School. Register online for the 5K or 12K run through www.rotarybedfordnh.com, or print the application and mail it in. Tees for the first 400 registrants, and walkers are welcome in the 5K.
3. The weatherman says ... More warm weather in the forecast today with a high of 71 degrees and a 10-percent chance of rain. Tonight's low is 44 degrees with a 0-percent chance of precipitation.

4. Get Money Smart! The Bedford Public Library hosts its final event in a series of financially-focused programs with Saint Anselm College Associate Professor John Romps on Thursday, May 2, from 7-9 p.m. Money Smart Week: The Current Economy and You is intended to will enlighten and update us about what’s going on in the economic world. Romps is a very engaging speaker whose main areas of teaching are economics, money and banking, investments and economic history. He is a forensic economist and his area of research is NH banking.
5. Sunday at the Library Concert Series. Head to the Bedford Public Library this Sunday, May 5, at 2:30 p.m. for Aksara - Female a cappella in the McAllaster Room. AKSARA, a six-woman a cappella ensemble from Southern NH, has performed in many local venues over the last 15 years, including concerts, benefits and hospice services of remembrance, and has produced 5 recordings. AKSARA performs a variety of selections in many styles that are compelling, renewing and healing. The group is part of Inner Harmony Music, a non-profit organization which has as its mission “to provide musical experiences which inspire participants to discover the healing power of sound in their own lives.”

Sunday at the Library concerts are hosted by the Friends of the Library and made possible by a grant from the Bedford Library Foundation.
