Bedford Police Host Drug Take-Back Day

Here are five things you should know today.

1. Safely dispose of your drugs. Bedford Police are collecting all unused and expired prescription drugs on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.  In the five previous take-back events, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in conjunction with our state, local, and tribal law enforcement partners have collected more than 2 million pounds (1,018 tons) of prescription medications were removed from circulation.

2. Rid yourself of harmful materials. The Town of Bedford is holding its annual household hazardous waste day on Saturday, June 1. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the town transfer station on Chubbock Road. For more information on what's accepted and what's not, click here.

3. The weatherman says .... partly-cloudy skies with a 10-percent chance of rain rule the day. The forecasted high temperature today, according to Weather.com, is 62 degrees.
