Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. Turning Continental Boulevard over to Merrimack is one of two issues haunting the State's 10-Year Highway Improvement Plan. Rep. John Graham, (R-Bedford), the chair of the House Public Works and Highway Committee which worked on the highway improvement plan, House Bill 2022, said the House’s position is to turn Continental Boulevard over to Merrimack, despite pushback from the town citing high costs of upkeep and repair. Continental Boulevard was part of the turnpike system before the Merrimack tolls were removed. (InDepthNH.org)
  2. How much are Americana antiques worth? A live auction sale of Americana by Skinner on March 30 grossed more than $466,000. Two pieces of New Hampshire furniture were among the four highest priced sales, including a late Eighteenth Century Queen Anne maple carved chest with cut-out scrolls, a carved central fan, a scroll and fan-carved skirt, that was attributed to Major John Dunlap, of Bedford, N.H., selling for $31,250. You can read more here: (Antiques and the Arts Online)
  3. Police released the identity of a man killed by a car in Manchester earlier this month. Kim Larochelle, 46, of Hooksett, died when he and a 45-year-old Bedford man was seriously injured while trying to cross Granite Street in Manchester. Police said the driver was a 59-year-old man from Hollis. They are asking anyone with information about the accident to call Manchester police at 603-668-8711. (WMUR Manchester)
