Don't Forget to Get Your Dog Licence!

Here are five things you should know today in Bedford.

1. Dog licencing window is closing. Those looking to register their dog for 2013 may do so without fine for the remainder of the month. Bedford Town Clerk Lori Radke warns that after May 31, late fees will apply, and civil forfeiture fines of $25 will be issued beginning June 21. For the convenience of residents, renewals are available via mail or online through EDOG. The form and EDOG are both located here. Those renewing by mail should be sure to include proof of current rabies vaccination and a self-addressed stamped envelope. The town clerk is also available to license dogs at the Bedford Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. at the Bedford Memorial Town Pool field. Those who no longer have a dog or need additional information are encouraged to contact Radke at 472-3550 or email her at Lradke@bedfordnh.org.

2. Taking a bite out of the competition. The top-seeded and undefeated Bedford High School boys tennis team begins its quest for a fourth-straight championship (first in Division I) this afternoon, when it takes on Bishop Guertin at 4 p.m. at the Bedford tennis courts on County Road. There are no other BHS games scheduled today.

3. The weatherman says .... Yesterday temperatures rose into the low 80s. Today, temps dip back into the 60s. According to Weather.com, there is a 40-percent chance of rain today with a predicted high of 66 degrees and variable clouds and the possibility of scattered thunderstorms.
