Don't Forget to Get Your 'Jeff's Bag' Dessert This Weekend
Help raise money for a local man who lost both legs in Monday's Boston Marathon attack and more in today's 5 Things.

1. A great dessert for a great cause. The Bedford Village Inn, Wednesday, published a message on its Facebook page announcing a benefit for Jeff Bauman, who survived, but lost both legs in Monday's Boston Marathon attack. While a page has been set up to raise donations for Bauman, the BVI will raise money for medical bills and other expenses for the family through a promotion this Thursday, April 18, through Sunday, April 21, where a modified version its famous chocolate bag dessert will be served. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to the family's charity.
2. Safely dispose of your drugs. Bedford Police are collecting all unused and expired prescription drugs on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications. In the five previous take-back events, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in conjunction with our state, local, and tribal law enforcement partners have collected more than 2 million pounds (1,018 tons) of prescription medications were removed from circulation.
3. Rid yourself of harmful materials. The Town of Bedford is holding its annual household hazardous waste day on Saturday, June 1. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the town transfer station on Chubbock Road. For more information on what's accepted and what's not, click here.
