  3. Something spectacular is taking place in the Bedford sky around 10:27 p.m. Sunday night. We will have a full lunar eclipse. The earth's shadow will pass in front of the full moon over the course of 84 minutes, and at one point, the earth's shadow will completely darken the moon's surface. As the amount of light reaching the moon lessens, the moon will appear to change colors from gray to pink to orange to red — also called a "blood moon." It's also a "super" moon, which means the moon is closer to the earth, making it appear larger. Unlike a solar eclipse, you can look directly at a lunar eclipse, according to NASA. If you miss it, there will be a second lunar eclipse on Nov. 8, 2022. (WMUR)
