Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- Temperatures were over 90 degrees Tuesday, and are expected to reach 90 on Wednesday, with a change of scattered thunderstorms that may be severe. A few pop-up thunderstorms may come through New Hampshire after 2 p.m. into the early evening, according to WMUR meteorologist Mike Haddad. The unpredictable storms could bring downpours, hail and damaging winds to some areas. Be alert for changes in the weather. (WMUR)
- A shout out to New Hampshire Fish and Game, and other rescuers, who found a 71-year-old hiker from Massachusetts who fell from 50-foot cliff in New Hampshire. On July 9, Harvey Weener, of Newburyport, was rock climbing when he fell from a cliff into a gully. New Hampshire rescue crews had to use large ropes to pull him out as he was unable to walk due to his injuries. He was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital. (New Bedford Guide)
- If you're looking for something fun to do this summer that's off the beaten path, here are a few ideas! You can stop by the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, located off Navigator Road at the Manchester Boston Regional Airport, right next to Runway 17-35. It's also a great place to watch planes take off and land. If you like to hike or bike, Bedford has a network trail maintained by local Trail Stewards. Check out the Heritage Trail, the Pulpit Rock Conservation Area, and Benedictine Park — just to name a few! (Google, Bedford N.H. Trails)
