  1. A shout out to award-winning children's book illustrator Tracey Dahle Carrier of Bedford. The accomplished artist is donating nearly 50 original illustrations and artist proofs for an online auction to help raise funds for Families in Transition. Carrier knew she wanted to do something to help when people started losing jobs and facing homeless because of the pandemic. Carrier said the illustrations in the auction were inspired by her collaborations with the Bedford Presbyterian Church, where the original artwork is currently on display. Place your bids online now through April 30. (Bedford Patch)
  2. A man jumped into the river Thursday to escape from police. George Guzman Alvarado, 49, of Manchester, was wanted by Bedford police for a strong-arm robbery last week. He fled on foot and jumped in the river in the area of Blaine and Second streets. Alvarado tried to escape through the underground sewer and drainage system, but police dropped Manchester Fire Department ladders down manholes of the sewer system. When Alvarado climbed out using one of the ladders, he was arrested and taken by ambulance to a local hospital. (Bedford Patch)
  3. The New Hampshire Bar Foundation awarded $102,250 in Justice Grants to New Hampshire nonprofit organizations and programs. The biennial grants help nonprofit organizations deliver legal services, improve how courts operate and help solve justice-related problems. The New Hampshire Bar Foundation Annual Awards Dinner and Fundraiser will be held on April 12 at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford. (Manchester Ink Link)
