Come Fly A Kite At Exeter Hospital’s Annual Kites Against Cancer Event Sunday
The uplifting family event will be held at Hampton Beach, near the Oceanfront Pavilion, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
EXETER, NH – Exeter Hospital’s annual Kites Against Cancer event takes to the sky from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at Hampton Beach, near the Oceanfront Pavilion.
This uplifting family event invites community members to spend an afternoon at the beach surrounded by family, friends and neighbors in support and in memory of those affected by cancer.
The event is free and open to the public to attend. As in past years, kites will be available to decorate and personalize in memory or in honor of a loved one for a $10 donation apiece.
Donations will support Exeter Hospital’s Beyond the Rainbow Fund, which provides financial assistance to cancer patients in need to help with expenses such as groceries, utilities, gas and rent/mortgage payments, as well as other practical needs that may become unmanageable during treatment.
This community event would not be possible without the support of Newburyport Bank, the event’s Platinum Beyond the Rainbow Sponsor, and the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce.
“Kites Against Cancer provides our community with a way to honor and remember their family and friends who are affected by cancer, as well as being a truly uplifting day for people currently undergoing treatment,” Eileen McDonald, senior director of Exeter Hospital’s Michael & Jeanne Falzone Center for Cancer Care, said. “Additionally, event proceeds support the Beyond the Rainbow Fund, which provides financial assistance for urgent non-clinical needs so that cancer patients and their families may focus on what’s most important: getting better.”
