  1. Manchester has rescheduled its Fourth of July fireworks show to Thursday, Jul. 6 due to weather concerns. The fireworks display was originally scheduled for Monday night but there was a good chance of rain and storms. The Thursday Independence Day celebration will be held at Arms Park with fireworks beginning around 9:30 p.m. (New Hamphire Union Leader)
  2. Manchester reported the largest number of overdoses in the past week since 2021. According to police reports, officers were called for 11 non-fatal overdoses in the week that ended last Saturday. Most of the overdose calls are in the center of the city near Hanover Street and affect the homeless population. Manchester police record the number of overdoses so they can notify programs that work on outreach and education. (WMUR)
  3. Down the road in Derry, a man was seriously injured from a fireworks mishap. The Derry Fire Department responded to the call on Saturday night around 9:15 p.m. where they found the man in serious condition. The victim was transported to Elliot Hospital and the Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating the incident. (WMUR)

  • The Manchester Police Department wants to remind people that they can sign up a loved one on their Just In-Case database of people with disabilities such as Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, and Autism. This will alert officers to interact with a different level of care when dealing with people that have these conditions. (City of Manchester, NH, Senior Services via Facebook)
  • The Birch on Elm is hosting a soft opening at their new location on the site of the former Noodz space. During this time, the restaurant will be reservation only and bar seating on a first come first serve basis. This is a larger space than their previous spot which allows them to serve more customers. (City of Manchester, NH, Economic Development)
  • The Manchester City Library will be holding a Lego Day on Friday, Jul. 7 at 1:00 p.m. Children can use their imagination and create using 10,000 Lego pieces donated by Lego Systems. The creations will be put on display in the children's room. This program is for ages 3-12. (Manchester City Library via Facebook)
