Ceremony marks ongoing renovations at Manchester's Hillside Middle School (wmur.com) — Renovations at Manchester’s Hillside Middle School hit a key milestone Wednesday with a topping-off ceremony in a massive $306 million overhaul of city schools. Students can look forward to a new wing, better security, and modern classrooms, with another ceremony set Friday at McLaughlin Middle School.
   

2. Water damage snuffs out Bonfire Country Bar in Manchester (unionleader.com) — Bonfire Country Bar on Elm Street in downtown Manchester is closed indefinitely after a burst pipe flooded the space, destroying equipment and leaving staff suddenly jobless just before Christmas. City officials are pressuring the building owner over alleged negligence, while neighboring businesses and community groups are organizing fundraisers and donations to support Bonfire’s employees and eventual reopening.
   

3. Manchester Man Dies In Hooksett Two Vehicle Crash Wednesday (patch.com) — A Manchester man was killed and another seriously injured Wednesday morning in a two-car crash on West River Road (Route 3A) in Hooksett, just south of Hackett Hill Road. Police say a southbound Kia Forte from Manchester reportedly swerved across the center line and struck a northbound Corolla, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Sgt. Buker.
   

4. EastersealsNH names Ana McKenna interim director of Franklin veterans campus (inklink.news) — A new interim director has been appointed to lead Easterseals NH’s Military & Veterans Campus in Franklin, a change closely watched in Manchester because the previous director was former city police chief Allen Aldenberg. After recent leadership resignations, Ana McKenna will oversee daily operations, expand services, and work with veteran organizations to stabilize and grow the campus’ support for service members and first responders.
   

5. Manchester Legion post serving free Christmas dinner (unionleader.com) — Veterans in Manchester are invited to a free Christmas Day feast at American Legion Sweeney Post 2, complete with ham, turkey and all the fixings. The meal runs from 1 to 4 p.m., and veterans can bring dependents, relax with holiday shows, and connect with members ready to talk or help with concerns.
