- On Wednesday, Jun. 14, Raymond Moore, who is accused of fatally stabbing a man in September on a Manchester walking trail, was in court. Moore's lawyers and the prosecution argued whether records from the Office of the Forensic Examiner should be examined while considering Moore's competency to stand trial due to alleged mental illness. The state objects to the documents because it has not received them yet. A judge is scheduled to rule on the objection next month. (WMUR)
- On Jun. 14, 43-year-old Jonathan Curtain of Manchester turned himself into police headquarters and was charged with felony robbery with a firearm. Manchester Police had widely circulated surveillance photos of Curtain after the Jun. 11 robbery at the Mobil Mart gas station on Eddy Road, which ultimately led to the identification and surrender of Curtain. - The YWCA of Manchester’s Brook Street Women's Shelter, Manchester's only women's shelter, is closing by the end of June due to a funding shortfall. Mayor Joyce Craig said the City of Manchester allocated $100,000 for the shelter in the 2024 budget, but YWCA staff said other funds including the American Rescue Plan Act never appeared. The City of Manchester requested proposals from other nonprofits to try to save the shelter. (NHPR)
