📰 News we're reading

1. New Manchester high school facilities plan recommends no closures, mergers at this time (unionleader.com) — Manchester families worried about high school closures can exhale for now, as the latest facilities plan recommends keeping all four city high schools open despite a projected $14 million budget shortfall. Officials will present details Monday on long-term building plans, enrollment projections, and why consolidation is not expected to deliver meaningful savings.

2. New Hampshire, Manchester 2025 housing market showed positive signs (inklink.news) — Manchester’s 2025 housing market stayed hot but slightly more manageable, with median single-family home prices rising to $462,000 while buyers paid a bit closer to list price and homes sat on the market slightly longer. Local sales, pending deals, and new listings all increased, mirroring statewide gains and offering residents a clearer picture of what to expect if they plan to buy or sell this year.

3. Manchester, NH – Injury Accident Reported at Union St and Spruce St (localaccidentreports.com) — An injury crash at Union and Spruce streets in Manchester briefly disrupted traffic as paramedics treated at least one injured person and police secured the busy intersection. Officials haven’t yet released full details on how many vehicles were involved or the severity of injuries, but the scene was cleared after medical evaluations and the investigation into the cause is ongoing.

4. Boston police arrest man in connection with shooting, crashed getaway car (masslive.com) — A 45-year-old Manchester resident has been arrested in Boston in connection with a Dorchester shooting where the suspect allegedly crashed a getaway car and fled on foot. Boston police say the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, and the man now faces multiple firearm and motor vehicle charges in Roxbury District Court.

5. Protesters Gather in Manchester (indepthnh.org) — Protesters gathered outside Manchester City Hall on Elm Street to denounce federal immigration policies and the recent fatal ICE shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis. Speakers, including U.S. Senate candidate Karishma Manzur, tied immigration enforcement, U.S. military actions, and the proposed ICE detention facility in Merrimack to broader concerns about war, civil rights, and treatment of immigrants in New Hampshire.
