Driver Escapes Injury in DW Highway Accident

Tractor-trailer truck pushes vehicle into a snowbank near the Industrial exchange on Wednesday afternoon.

UPDATED, 4:15 p.m. A driver escaped serious injury this afternoon after his car was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer on the Daniel Webster Highway.

Merrimack Fire Lt. Matt Duke said the incident appeared to be much worse at first because of the size of the tractor-trailer truck involved. But he said the driver of the vehicle was not injured and did not require medical transport.

He said the tractor-trailer truck actually pushed the driver's car into a snowbank, but that was the extent of the rear-end damage.

Earlier story: Merrimack firefighters and police officers are responding to a reported three-car accident on the Daniel Webster Highway near the Campers Inn, according to a NH Traffic Cams Alert.

The alert reports that one of the three vehicles involved is a tractor-trailer and that they are some injuries. Merrimack Patch will have more information on this story as soon as it becomes available.
