Child Care Worker Charged with Drunken Driving Enters Plea
Casey Hobbs Lever pleaded no contest to operating under the influence and prosecutors agreed to drop child endangerment charges against her.
A Merrimack child care worker arrested for driving drunk with her 5-year-old daughter in the car pleaded no contest Thursday, according to WMUR-TV.
Casey Hobbs Lever, 29, of 23-B Styles Road, New Boston was arrested by Merrimack Police on Feb. 28 and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police said she had been working at a local child care center when she was asked to leave due to her sobriety. Her duties at the child care center included caring for three infants – a 2 months old, a 5 month old and an 11 month old – and she was caring for them prior to being asked to leave.
In exchange for her plea on Thursday, prosecutors agreed to drop the child endangerment charges. She will have to pay a fine, take a parenting class and have an ignition interlock device installed on her car.
