Merrimack Officers Take Winni Dip for Charity
The Merrimack and Hudson police departments both participated in the Special Olympics fundraiser.
Police officers from Merrimack and Hudson participated in Saturday's Winni Dip, plunging into the icy waters of Lake Winnipesaukee to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Officers from both departments had also grown beards over the past month to raise awareness of the event, and many of them had their beards shaved off once they dried off.
The 6th annual Winni Dip wound up raising more than $66,000 for the Special Olympics. Merrimack Police finished first in fundraising at $14,900.
