Milford Man Arrested for Lying on Gun Permit
Steven Demello of Milford allegedly failed to disclose that he had been convicted of a domestic violence offense in 2009.

A Milford man was arrested on Wednesday after Merrimack Police learned that he lied about a past offense when he applied for a gun permit in November.
Steven Demello, 25 of 99 Powers St., Apt. 129, was charged with unsworn falsification, a Class B misdemeanor, according to the press release issued by Merrimack Police Capt. Peter Albert.
According to police, Demello applied for a pistol permit on Nov. 19, 2013. While filling out the form, Demello failed to disclose that he had been convicted of a misdemeanor of domestic violence in 2009.
Police later executed a warrant and Demello later surrendered to police without incident. Demello was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 11 in Merrimack Circuit Court.
