Snow Storm, Bitter Cold Cause Slippery Roads

Polar Vortex returns this week; Town Council to meet on Thursday night.

Take it slow: A snow storm that dumped up to 8 inches of snow overnight accompanied by freezing cold temperatures is causing some slippery road conditions this morning as well as some closures.

Town Council meeting:
The Merrimack Town Council is scheduled to meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Town Offices.

Filing period announced:
Merrimack officials announced the 2014 Town Meeting election filing period this week. Candidates can file their papers from Wednesday, Feb. 19, to Friday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. to run in the April 8 town election.

School budget presented:
Members of the Merrimack School Board presented their proposed 2014-2015 budget of more than $68.7 million to the public on Wednesday night that calls for a 2.63 percent increase over this year's school budget. The School Board held a budget hearing on Monday night and will hold more public hearings this month.
