An Afternoon Fire In Nashua Was Controlled By Emergency Crews Thursday Afternoon.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:38 p.m. to find smoke and fire showing from a second-story window.

NASHUA, NH — A two-story apartment building on Strawberry Bank Road caught fire Thursday evening, according to officials.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:38 p.m. and encountered fire and smoke coming from a second-floor unit of the apartment building. The fire, located on the ceiling of a bathroom inside the apartment, was extinguished by fire crews after one hour.

Additional crews searched the adjacent apartments to ensure all occupants had evacuated, but it was determined all residents had vacated once the fire alarm sounded. Firefighters located two pets in the fire apartment and returned them to their owners. No injuries were reported.

Crews deemed two apartments uninhabitable: one sustained significant fire and smoke damage, while another on the first floor suffered extensive water damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Nashua Fire Department.
