New Hampshire Special Olympic Athletes Ready To Compete In Orlando
The largest group of Special Olympic athletes to represent the state will be celebrated in front of the Concord statehouse on June. 3
CONCORD, NH — The largest group of Special Olympics New Hampshire athletes will compete on the national stage at the 2022 Special Olympics in Orlando starting on June. 5.
This delegation includes New Hampshire’s first all-female three-on-three basketball team. In addition, athletes Chelsea Schultz and Jesse Covill —from Nashua— will be the state’s first-ever female powerlifter and the first New Hampshire athlete to attend the USA Games as a coach. But, before they leave, all 113 athletes and volunteers of Team New Hampshire will meet in front of the statehouse in Concord on June. 3 for a send-off ceremony starting at 2 p.m.
“These athletes have worked hard to get here and take a great deal of pride in representing New
Hampshire,” said Mary Conroy, President, and CEO of Special Olympics New Hampshire.

Team New Hampshire athletes will compete from June.5-12 in several events. The week-long competition will feature more than 5,500 athletes and coaches from all 50 states as well as the Caribbean and will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.
The Opening Ceremonies for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will occur at Exploria Stadium, and ESPN and ABC family of networks will begin broadcasting the event on June. 5. WMUR-TV is also scheduled to carry ABC’s coverage between noon and 3 p.m. this Sunday.
