Sex Offender Charged with Giving False Address to Police

Nashua Police arrested a sex offender on Thursday for allegedly providing them with a false address.
William Thomas Jr., 32, no fixed address, was charged with two counts of duty to inform, a Class A felony. He was arrested on a warrant at 1:52 p.m. Thursday by members of the Nashua Police Department’s Special Investigations Division, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Investigations.
On Jan. 8, 2014, detectives in the Nashua Police Department’s Special Investigations Division identified Thomas, a Tier 2 registered sex offender, as being non-compliant with his registration requirements. A subsequent investigation revealed that Thomas had provided false information on his sex offender registration form by giving the Nashua Police Department an erroneous address. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
Thomas’s charges were upgraded to Class A felonies due to a previous convictions for duty to report and duty to inform. A Class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment in state prison, exclusive of fines, for each count.
He was released on cash bail pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Court.
