2 Charged With Home Depot Thefts In Stafford: Police
Two people were charged with shoplifting store merchandise from the Home Depot in Stafford Township on Monday, police said.
STAFFORD, NJ — Two people were charged with shoplifting store merchandise from the Home Depot in Stafford Township on Monday, police said.
The Stafford Township Police Department’s Detective Bureau were alerted about suspicious activity inside of the Home Depot on Route 72 West at about 11 a.m.
Stafford Detectives saw two people exit the store pushing a cart with a large garbage can and other items. Detectives approached them in the parking lot after learning that they had not paid for the store merchandise, according to police.

Police said the suspects were arrested and identified as Anthony Webb, 34, of Port Jarvis, New York and Kerry Connors, 26, of Middletown, New York.
Further investigation revealed that Webb and Connors had concealed a large amount of store merchandise within the garbage can, valued at more than $4,600, according to police.

Detectives later executed a search warrant on their vehicle, which led to the recovery of additional stolen property from a previous theft that occurred on Jan. 9 at a Home Depot located in Newton, New Jersey, police said.
Both Webb and Connors were charged with shoplifting, conspiracy to commit shoplifting and receiving stolen property.
They were released pending a future court appearance in Ocean County Superior Court with no date determined yet.
Detective Drew Smith and Detective Erik Smithman led the investigation.
