2 Girls Struck By Jersey Shore Beach Patrol Vehicle On Beach: PD
Two girls were struck by a beach patrol vehicle on Saturday at the Jersey Shore while they were laying on the sand, police said.

SHIP BOTTOM – Two girls were struck by a beach patrol vehicle on Saturday at the Jersey Shore, police said.
The incident happened at 1:08 p.m. when the Ship Bottom Police Department was dispatched to the 26th Street beach after two female juveniles were struck, police said.
The Ship Bottom Beach Patrol vehicle struck a 14-year-old girl from Fleetwood, Pa. and one 15-year-old girl from Leestwood, Pa. while they were laying on the beach.

The driver was John Purdon, 22, of Barnegat, police said.
The juveniles were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center where they were treated and later released from the hospital to their families.

Purdon was charged with reckless driving pending his court date.
