"We cannot stress how important it is for residents to keep all pets including domestic livestock up to date with their rabies vaccinations to prevent the spread of rabies," animal control officials said. "Rabies is a neurological virus spread by saliva via bites. By vaccinating your pets you are not only ensuring the health and safety of your furry companion, but you are also keeping your family safe."
