9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies Set In Barnegat, Stafford

There were 21 Ocean County residents among the nearly 3,000 people who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

BARNEGAT-MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Memorial ceremonies are set Wednesday in both Barnegat and Stafford to honor those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The Barnegat Township Committee is hosting a remembrance ceremony at Town Hall, 900 West Bay Ave., Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Stafford's memorial ceremony is set for the evening, held at 6 p.m. at Beach Avenue Park.

There were 21 Ocean County residents among the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks at the World Trade Center in New York, at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and on United Flight 93 that was crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
