Barnegat Man Pleads Guilty To Vehicular Homicide, DWI
A Barnegat man pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated on Wednesday, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat man pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated on Wednesday, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Jeydon Lowe, 24, of Barnegat, was driving eastbound on Stafford Avenue on March 25, 2020 when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree, the OCPO said.
A passenger in the front seat of the vehicle, Robert Parlin, 24, of Little Egg Harbor, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, the OCPO said.

Lowe sustained minor injuries and was taken to Hackensack Meridian Health Southern Ocean County Medical Center in Stafford Township.
Detectives found that Lowe had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of nearly .12 percent, according to the OCPO. A driver is presumed to be over the legal limit for alcohol consumption with a BAC of .08 or greater.

Sentencing is scheduled on March 19, 2021. The State will seek a seven-year prison sentence.
