Charles Gerard Mooney, 'Card-Carrying Democrat,' Dies At 56
Services for the Waretown resident will be held on Wednesday and Thursday in Jersey City

Charles Gerard Mooney of Waretown, NJ, formerly of Jersey City, died on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018. He was 56.
He attended Dickinson High School in Jersey City and Ramapo State College. Charles was an avid music fan, a patient fisherman, and a voracious reader. He was also a card-carrying Democrat and was happy to discuss politics with everyone. He will be greatly missed.

Charles is predeceased by his parents, Charles Mooney and Joan Borchers Mooney and his sister Elizabeth Mooney. He is survived by his siblings, Patricia Turner, (Walter), Drew Mooney, (Kathy) and Maureen Masson, (Joe); niece and nephew Reagan and Kevin Masson and his beloved caretaker, Rusudan Kishmareishvili.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Family and friends may assemble at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Jersey City. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
